Information received from Heather Probert:

The Stittsville Concert Band welcomes new members and is interested in hearing from musicians who can play at least at a high school level, and read music. They rehearse on Mondays, and play regular concerts through the year in the community. If you would like to try playing in a community band, contact the manager, Christine Philipson, who can tell you more about the band and whether there might be a spot for your instrument.

Information received from Heather Probert and Bill Lowe:

1.  Mike Billows (m.billows@rogers.com) has now completed the souvenir DVD video of our concert on April 19th.  

If you are interested in obtaining a copy of this video, please drop an email to Mike.  The cost per DVD is $5.00.  This DVD is similar to the DVD’s Mike produced for the April 2009 and January 2010 concerts.  DVDs of these concerts can still be made available if you are interested in obtaining copies.

2.  Best of luck to the New Horizons Intermediate Band 2 who will be performing at MusicFest Canada Nationals at the NAC on Saturday, May 22nd at 4:00 pm on Stage B.

3.  Sue McCarthy, Int. Band I member  - also member of Fumblin’ Fingers – will be performing at 2:15 pm at the Atlantic Voice Concert on May 30th.  This concert features Stan Rogers and is entitled Tribute to a Canadian Legend.  The concert begins at 3 pm at Centretown United Church, 507 Bank Street.Tickets $15 in advance from ME, by calling Hannie (613-722-9240) or at the door. 4.  Happy Practising to all New Horizons Band members who have made the commitment to extra practice over the summer months. 

5.  The intermediate summer session contact people are Heather Probert and Dr. Bill Lowe.  The summer session will happen during June and July with a total of 8 sessions.
